Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Lights
|
Phoenix Lights starter Nicolas Dupuis turned in a sterling performance against the Pacifica Shamrocks, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Phoenix reliever Cecilio Friuli picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Tony Torres shouldered the loss. Today's win puts Phoenix at 28-27, while Pacifica falls to 31-22.
Guillermo Sáenz said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Sáenz belted a solo home run to stake Phoenix to a 3-2 lead. His 1st home run of the season came off Pacifica pitcher Tony Torres.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Michael Barnett.
