McFarland Shines in Rats Win
The Rock River Rats beat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 9-2, at The Coliseum. Rock River first baseman Scott McFarland earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. José Mendoza earned the win for Rock River. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 7-1.
