Bombers Come Up Short at Cabo San Lucas
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros got a strong performance from pitcher Ashley Heath, who stymied the South Carolina offense en route to a 3-2 win at Field de Los Layendas. Heath went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. The Toreros have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 1st win in 4 games.
Ashis Mudigonda went 1 for 3 with a walk for Cabo San Lucas. In the bottom of the seventh, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Mudigonda delivered for the Toreros. His run-scoring walk put Cabo San Lucas on top, 3-2.
South Carolina manager Randy Huggett said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
