Wolverines Pin 3-2 Loss on Lights
|
Wichita Wolverines starter Hisataka Matsumura turned in an exceptional performance against the Phoenix Lights at UFO Field, resulting in a Wichita win, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Matsumura, now 1-0. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. Their 22-27 record puts the Wolverines 4th in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division.
Alan Isaac, the Wichita left fielder, contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 3-2, Wolverines. For the game, Isaac went 1 for 4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Matsumura.
