Hawks Cut Down Snaps, 10-7
|
The Boise Hawks beat the Cincinnati Snaps, 10-7, at Basque Block Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Bernardo Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Boise reliever Sung-moon Lee was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Octávio Pérez took the loss. James Woodard picked up the save, his 11th.
Early in the game, Ramírez had a 3-run home run for Boise. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Hawks on top, 3-0.
Hawks manager Arinori Nakamura wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
The 'W' lifts Boise's record to 24-26.
