Hawks Come Up Short at Wichita
The Boise Hawks got a sterling performance from pitcher José Garza, but the Wolverines still prevailed, 6-5. Garza was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 22 batters . Wichita reliever Tom Bowen was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was José Garza. Pedro Galló got credit for the save for Wichita. It was his 8th of the year.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Stewart Gee hit a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and with it the Wolverines took a 6-5 lead.

"I know we have our doubters," said Boise manager Arinori Nakamura. "But I still have high hopes for this team."

With the win, Wichita has a record of 19-26. Boise falls to 22-24.
