Jeff Klein was the difference-maker for the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats in what turned into a shootout with the New York Ninjas. Klein earned the player of the game award after going 3-for-4 in the 14-9 Beetlecats win. Buzzard's Bay reliever Noboru Miyamoto picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Juan López was saddled with the loss. Buzzard's Bay goes to 23-22, New York to 21-24.

The Buzzard's Bay win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Ethan Gurston. In the top of the seventh, the Buzzard's Bay first baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 9-7 lead.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Klein told reporters after the game.
