M嫞imo 聲gel pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The DeKalb Cornhuskers, despite 聲gel's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the Youngstown Tune-Ups at The Corn Crib. Koshiro Ohayashi closed the door for Youngstown, picking up his 15th save of the year. The Tune-Ups bumped their record to 25-22 with this latest triumph.
Rich Gonzalez said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the top of the seventh. Gonzalez belted a 2-run home run to stake Youngstown to a 3-1 lead. His 2nd home run of the season came off DeKalb pitcher M嫞imo 聲gel.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Gonzalez. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
