The Marysville Monarchs faced a tough opponent in Buzzard's Bay pitcher Iestyn Stanbridge, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mitts Fieldhouse by a final score of 3-2. Stanbridge went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. David Lidstone earned his 1st save in 1 tries. The third-place Beetlecats have dropped 4 straight games.
Marysville grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Billy Gibson delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Monarchs.
Buzzard's Bay manager Keith Irwin said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
