The Brew Stade was the site of a competitive game between the Rubber City Rhinos and San Diego Hops.
The San Diego Hops topped the Rubber City Rhinos, 5-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Brew Stade. The player of the game was San Diego pitcher and an-Najaf, Iraq native Salah bin Atif. bin Atif, now 5-3, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 10, walking 3, and allowing 3 earned runs.
In the bottom of the first inning, Nadir Rizvi muscled up and hit a 2-run home run. It put San Diego ahead, 2-0. For the game, Rizvi went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a good effort all around," said bin Atif.
The Hops improved to 18-19.
