Kitamura Shines in Ducks Win
In a high-scoring contest between Long Island and DeKalb, designated hitter Yoshitoki Kitamura was a difference-maker. Kitamura, the 18 overall pick in the 2028 draft, earned player of the game honors in the 13-9 Long Island win. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The third-place Ducks are now 21-22, the Cornhuskers 22-22.

The Ducks got an important contribution from first baseman Jose Navarro, who in the bottom of the third stroked a first pitch fastball into center for a run-scoring single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Ducks ahead, 4-3.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Navarro said.
