9-6 Monarchs Win over Beetlecats Evens Season Record
The Marysville Monarchs bested the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats by a score of 9-6, with third baseman António Ayala getting the main credit. On the day, Ayala was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Monarchs. Marysville reliever Curt Woods picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Vincent Bethea was collared with the loss. The Monarchs saw their win-loss record go to 22-22. At the same time, the Beetlecats fell to 22-19.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Billy Gibson was at the plate when Marysville scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Monarchs to go in front, 5-4.
