|
Phoenix starter Nicolas Dupuis clamped down on the Newark offense, while his team sailed to a 12-1 win. Dupuis, now 5-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing no earned runs. The third-place Lights improved to 23-22.
Phoenix left fielder Ramón Costa staked his team to an early lead in the top of the second inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run with the bases loaded.
"The Lights definitely had our number," said Newark manager Johan Gillberry.
