The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Wichita fans at Howling Park.

Wichita rode a good effort from starter Dennis Gates to beat the San Antonio Storm Troopers at Howling Park. The final score was 5-0. Gates picked up the win for Wichita, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1.

In the bottom of the third, Alan Isaac had a big run-scoring triple off Romain Quere. With the triple, the Wichita left fielder put his team in front, 1-0. He was 1 for 4 with a triple in the contest.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Gates.

With the win, Wichita goes to 16-21, while the Storm Troopers fall to 15-20.
