Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Hackers
|
The Youngstown Tune-Ups got a superb performance from catcher Micah Lee. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Silicon Valley. The Hackers won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Lee was named the player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Silicon Valley reliever Ryozo Kuramoto was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Koshiro Ohayashi. The 5th-place Hackers raised their record to 18-22.
Silicon Valley's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the 11th, with the game tied, John Berdahl reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run.
Berdahl said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
