Loss to Beavers Extends Seattle Losing Streak
The Beavers had to overcome a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Dan Lewis to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Sick's Stadium. Lewis went 7.1 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. Tim Stady Jr. recorded the save for Portland, his 2nd of the season. Seattle now has a 6-game losing streak.

Aftab Mengal took Dan Lewis deep with two out in the top of the third. On a first pitch fastball, Mengal drilled a 3-run home run to right-center. It was his 7th home run of the season and put Portland on top, 4-1.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Mengal.
