Hackers Edge Frisco in Pitching Duel
|
Silicon Valley got a first-rate effort from pitcher James Crowe, who frustrated Frisco hitters en route to a 1-0 Hackers triumph at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Crowe went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-2. The 5th-place Hackers have won 5 in a row.
There were several reasons the Hackers beat the Rams, but one factor was Allen Foley. In the bottom of the fourth, the Silicon Valley first baseman came to bat and hit a solo home run. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"James's tempo and rhythm were good," said Hackers manager Bob Miller. "He was the key to us winning."
