Predators Fall to Arroyo, Storm Troopers
|
San Antonio left fielder Jooki Arroyo was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Topeka Predators. Arroyo, who is tied for 5th in the FFL in triples with 2, went 2-3 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Storm Troopers. Romain Quere, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held the Predators to no earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The win brings the Storm Troopers to 12-17, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
The Storm Troopers got a lift from shortstop John Carruthers who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth inning off César Quintana. It was his 1st RBI of the season and put San Antonio in front, 2-1.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Carruthers.
