Carlos Jiménez helped his team muscle past the Newark Jail Birds, 10-4. In the game, the Pacifica third baseman went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Reliever Dan Northeast picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Steve Burton took the loss. It was the 20th win in 32 games this year for the defending champion Shamrocks, who are picking up where they left off.

The game turned with two out in the top of the sixth when Jiménez, who is tied for 7th in the ACL with a .521 slugging percentage, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Shamrocks into the lead, 5-4.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Pacifica manager Joe Leftwich.
