Mustangs Take 12-1 Pounding
The Mile High Mustangs and Eureka Hornets were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at McNichols Stadium.

Eureka starter Barend Bilderbeek kept the Mile High offense under clamps, while his team rolled to a 12-1 win. Bilderbeek, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs.

There were several reasons the Hornets beat the Mustangs, but one factor was Ka-fei Bi. In the top of the third, the Eureka second baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 3-1 lead.

"The game plan didn't change," said Bilderbeek. "I kept pitching like it was nothing-to-nothing."

At 20-17, Eureka is in second place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
