The Silicon Valley Hackers took Jacksonville pitcher John Tracy's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hellcats Park. The final score had Silicon Valley getting past the Hellcats, 8-7. Tracy went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 5. The winner was Tim Carson, who threw 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 14 hits. Jim Unknown closed the door for Silicon Valley, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Making an impact for Silicon Valley was designated hitter Greg Coker. He drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third. For the game, Coker was 2-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Hackers manager Bob Miller. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
