The Sandy Springs Spartans and Long Island Ducks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at The Coliseum.

The exploits of right fielder Tae-soo Yi helped the Long Island Ducks defeat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-1. Yi was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Kunimichi Suzuki got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Spartans to no earned runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3.

In the top of the first inning, Martin Poliskin went deep for the Ducks. With Long Island leading 2-0, he drilled a 2-run home run.

"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Long Island skipper Roger Fievet.

With the loss, Sandy Springs sinks to 11-18.
