DeKalb got a terrific game from shortstop Chris Bramel. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Rock River, 10-7. Bramel was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Rock River, now 22-9, has played well in the early going.

Danny Martinez, who is tied for 9th in the FFL in bases on balls with 21, helped out the Rock River cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk.

"Enjoyed this one," Martinez told the Rock River Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
