|
The Riverside Red Bulls defeated the Topeka Predators, 7-3. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter Juan Negrón, who went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Masayoshi Tanaka picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. César Quintana was tagged with the loss. Riverside is now 19-10.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Negrón. In the top of the seventh inning, when the Red Bulls were trailing 3-2, Negrón delivered a two-out grand slam home run for Riverside, giving his team the lead.
Negrón attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
