The Carson City Mustang beat the Newark Jail Birds, 7-4, at Cowboys Stadium. Carson City designated hitter Vahe Kordonskaya earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Earning his 7th save of the year was Mal Goff. The Mustang keep rolling, raising their record to 19-11.
Chipping in for Carson City was third baseman Héctor Martínez. He stroked a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Martínez went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Carson City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
