Late Magic Gets Topeka 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between Topeka and Riverside, pitcher Michiomi Moteki was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned player of the game honors for Topeka in the 2-1 win. At 17-10, the Predators have played well so far.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 1-1, designated hitter Del Miller won it for Topeka. With the bases empty, Miller hit a full count fastball from Lien-ying Mar for a solo home run, giving his team a 2-1 win.
"I just made my pitches," said Moteki, "and the ball kept missing the bat."
