Predators Come Back Late to Top Monarchs
|
The Topeka Predators took Marysville pitcher Jonathan Burton's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Mitts Fieldhouse. The final score had Topeka getting past the Monarchs, 4-3. Burton went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 4. With their winning streak at 6, the Predators have raced to a strong start this season.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the batter, Frank Wyman, hit a 2-run single. It helped Topeka seize the win.
After the game, Topeka manager Noriyori Shirai applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
