Late Magic Gets Rock River 4-3 Win
|
The Rock River Rats picked up a win at UFO Field, knocking off the Phoenix Lights, 4-3. Starting pitcher José Mendoza played a key role in the triumph. The save was credited to Kevin Crosby, his 6th. At 18-8, the Rats have played well so far.
Fletch Hiller had the most critical at-bat for Rock River. With two in the top of the ninth inning, Hiller hit a 2-1 fastball from Cecilio Friuli for a 2-run double. It put Rock River in front, 4-3.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Phoenix manager Michael Barnett, "let me know."
