Buzzard's Bay catcher Andrew Spence picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 8-7. Buzzard's Bay reliever Mike Salter picked up the win to move to 2-1. John Welch suffered the loss. The Beetlecats raised their record to 15-9.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, Marcos Serrano delivered the knockout blow when he hit a run-scoring single to win it for Buzzard's Bay. In the contest, Serrano went 4 for 5 with 4 singles.
"This place was rocking at the end," Serrano said.
