In a tight contest at UFO Field, the Rock River Rats edged the Phoenix Lights by the score of 7-6. Rock River designated hitter Danny Martinez, who blasted 2 home runs, was named the player of the game. Kevin Crosby was called on to finish, recording his 5th save. The Rats, now 17-8, have been on a roll in the early going.

One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing Phoenix hurler Grégoire Maillet, Nobuatsu Nakashima, who is tied for 3rd in the FFL with a 1.130 OPS, drew a walk. The Rats went on to win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Nakashima said.
