Stogies Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Havana Stogies went home winners at Skellington Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Joe Hardy. Hardy silenced the Jacksonville Jacks, enabling Havana to grab the 2-1 win. In 8 innings, Hardy surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Jacksonville has now lost 5 consecutive games.
Havana took control in the top of the sixth. With no one out and a runner on 1st, Qian Thean hit a run-scoring triple to make it 2-1, Stogies.
"We scored one run," said Jacksonville manager Daniel Dumas. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
