Spokane Makes It 6 Straight with 3-2 Win
|
Spokane overcame a superlative game from Jeff Duff to beat Carson City, 3-2. The Carson City pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 9 innings of 3-hit ball. Spokane reliever Gervais Gandon was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Mal Goff. With the loss, Carson City sinks to 14-11.
The Bulldogs were down to their final out when center fielder Luis Reyes turned a 1-0 curveball from Mal Goff into a 2-run double. The walk-off double made the The Kennel crowd go wild.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Chris Carpenter, the Spokane skipper. "This one tested us."
