Late Magic Gets Quebec 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Quebec Armada and the Kansas City Tornadoes, Elmer Turner was the difference-maker. The Quebec left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 win. Turner picked up the win for Quebec, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. The first-place Armada have a one-game lead in their division.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the ninth, Wei-qiang Ju had a big at-bat. With one out, the Quebec left fielder hit a run-scoring single, to put his team up, 2-1.
"I was a little disappointed," said Kansas City manager Glenn Rowe. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
