Cornhuskers Cut Down Wolverines, 4-1

Alan Gorringe was superb against Wichita. The right-hander had a splitter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 4-1 Cornhuskers victory. Gusti Kusuma earned the save, his 5th. The loss lowers the Wichita record to 9-14.
Kyle Hines brought the hometown crowd to its feet with no one out in the bottom of the second. That's when the 25-year old shortstop belted a 2-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Cornhuskers took the lead, 2-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Hines said after the game.
