Snaps Curb Cornhuskers, 5-1
|
Jorge Olivo never let the Cornhuskers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Snaps to a 5-1 win. In 5.2 innings, Olivo surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. With the loss, DeKalb drops to 10-9.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, center fielder Greg Bova had a key at-bat for the Snaps. With Cincinnati leading 2-1, he banged a 2-run home run.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Bova told a Cincinnati Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
