Riverside center fielder Hirotsugu Abe was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Phoenix beat the Red Bulls, 8-5. Abe was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Nicolas Dupuis, who threw 97 pitches over 6 innings.
