The Youngstown Tune-Ups relied on the hitting of right fielder William Banks to stop the Newark Jail Birds, 5-3. For the game, Banks went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Jail Birds, at 6-13, have stumbled out of the gate.

Banks hit a grand slam home run in the top of the first to help the Youngstown cause. The home run, which was hit off Mario Robles, allowed Youngstown to take a 4-0 lead.

Banks attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
