Madison first baseman Brian Delmont had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Delmont went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He scored 3 times, even as New York beat the Beehive, 13-12. Delmont was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was New York reliever Yoichibei Matsubara, now 1-1. The loser was John Haines. The Beehive, now 7-12, continue their poor start.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New York trailing 12-10, Shi-fu Goei hit a fastball from John Haines to right-center for a bases-clearing double. Just like that, the Ninjas had a walk-off win.
