The Carson City Mustang picked up a win at Cowboys Stadium, knocking off the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-1. Starting pitcher Maurice Bignold, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Bignold, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. The Mustang, now 12-6, have been red hot.

With Carson City trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Mustang fortunes got a boost when second baseman Ramón Dolit turned a 2-1 fastball from Riley Goodall into his 1st home run of the season. The hit scored 3 and put Carson City up, 3-1.

"Maurice is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Carson City manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
