The rain could not keep the Red Bull Stadium crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
Pacifica right-hander Owen Kay made an effective start against the Riverside Red Bulls at Red Bull Stadium, leading his team to a 8-7 win. Kay, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs.
Making an impact for Pacifica was designated hitter Ta-heng Wang. He drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, Wang was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Wang, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Pacifica improves to 10-7 as they look to defend their championship.
