The Rock River Rats wasted an impressive 6.1-inning effort from starter Douglas Pantall, falling 1-0 to the Long Island Ducks at Long Island Stadium. Long Island reliever Ricardo Hernández was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Josh Hunt took the loss for Rock River. With the win, Long Island improves its record to 7-7.

Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Long Island left fielder Fernando Gutiérrez hit a run-scoring single, helping his team get the win.

Gutiérrez said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
