Rats Dump Ducks, 12-7
|
Nick Dye added some punch to the Rock River offense, helping them outmuscle the Long Island Ducks, 12-7. In the game, Dye was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. The winner was Adam Lewis, who threw 85 pitches over 5.1 innings. The left-hander was charged with 6 runs on 6 hits. The Rats raised their record to 9-5.
A decisive at-bat came in the top of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Nobuatsu Nakashima, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-2, Rock River, and helped them go on to win.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Dye said. "We did a good job of that today."
