The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats did just enough to sneak past the Pacifica Shamrocks, 5-4, at McCormick Field. Buzzard's Bay shortstop Joaquín Salas earned player of the game honors. Mike Salter picked up the save for Buzzard's Bay, his 3rd of the year. The win takes Buzzard's Bay to 8-5.
Salas had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fifth for the Beetlecats. Coming up with the bases loaded and Buzzard's Bay trailing 2-1, he hit a bases-clearing triple.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Salas said.
