Carson City got a first-rate effort from pitcher Maurice Bignold, who frustrated Madison hitters en route to a 3-1 Mustang triumph at The Hive. The winning pitcher was Bignold, now 3-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. The Beehive fall to 5-8 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2032 season.

Trailing 1-0, Carson City hopes soared in the top of the fifth inning when the 20-year old right fielder Kichisaburo Tanaka lifted a first pitch fastball into the stands for a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put the Mustang up, 3-1.

"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Quinn Patrick.
