Predators Come Back Late, Nip Mustang
The Topeka Predators did just enough to sneak past the Carson City Mustang, 5-4, at Cowboys Stadium. Topeka catcher Pablo Ortíz earned player of the game honors. Jorge Arellano, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Losses have been few and far between for the Mustang so far this season. Their record drops to 8-4.

Had Ortíz not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Ortíz hit a run-scoring single. The Predators never looked back after taking the 5-4 lead.

"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Topeka skipper Noriyori Shirai. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
