Lights Win at Newark, 8-5

The Phoenix Lights knocked off the Newark Jail Birds, 8-5, at Cobras Ballpark. Topan Alisjahbana, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Phoenix won. The designated hitter went 1 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Jail Birds, now 5-7, continue their sluggish start.
Ramiro Ramírez provided some late-game drama. In the top of the ninth, with no one out and the bases loaded, Ramírez hit a run-scoring single. It helped Phoenix take the lead and grab the win.
"A great game, a great day," said Ramírez about the win. "I can't complain."
