Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Hackers
|
The Silicon Valley Hackers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Walker Hoekstra, who stifled the Boise offense en route to a 2-1 Hackers win at Basque Block Field. Silicon Valley reliever Britt Diaz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. James Woodard was saddled with the loss. The Hawks fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 2032 season.
Both teams had trouble manufacturing runs. So, Luka Hofman's at-bat in the top of the ninth was critical. With one out, the Silicon Valley third baseman hit a run-scoring triple, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Hoekstra said.
