New York second baseman Derek Thompson had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 11-8 win over the Rock River Rats. The save went to Dae-je Kwak, his 3rd this season. With the loss, Rock River is 7-4.

Thompson came through with some timely hitting for New York. With the score 2-2 in the bottom of the second and two down, Thompson hit a 1-1 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 6-2, New York.

"We'll savor this win," Thompson told the New York Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
