Storm Troopers Nip Beehive, 6-5
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers and Madison Beehive obliged those fans who came to The Clone Army looking for a good time.
The San Antonio Storm Troopers turned back the Madison Beehive, 6-5, at The Clone Army. Ron Wheaton was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. San Antonio reliever Cody Ladd picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. César González was collared with the loss.
San Antonio right fielder Sumiteru Nakagawa gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded and the Storm Troopers trailing 2-1, Nakagawa grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Nakagawa told a San Antonio Daily reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
The Beehive fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2032 season.
