The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats topped the Newark Jail Birds by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Satoshi Iijima. Iijima went 1-2 with 2 walks for the Beetlecats on the day. The loss drops Newark to 3-6.

Buzzard's Bay took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a big hit from Fomio Onishi. On a 1-1 fastball from Fabio de Kroon, Onishi hit a 2-run double. That made it 4-2, Beetlecats. For the day, Onishi was 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
